country lanes & a lovely lunch...


we were walking to a little village..where the church is in the distance...

past the angling resevoir...


over the little stream...






more trees i hear you cry....it was a crisp autumnal afternoon
& the skies were great....



my love of grasses...gently swaying in the wind...



we were walking too greenstead green...



the church was more in our reach...






we had to hop onto the verge to let farmer giles by...



grasses,fields,church & sky...



and this is where we were heading too...





this tree was beautiful,anyone know what sort?....



the trunk was a lovely colour/colours....the branches were intwinned...








i am going to use this picture on my cards...i thought it would make a lovely
christmas card...



arriving in the village...



this is the rear of the farm shop...its a beautiful barn with a lovely thatched
roof...







lunch was ordered..while we waited love of my life thought it would be a good time
for a game of tug & war...



and here it is...scrummy carrot & coriander soap,just what was needed as we were sitting outside as we had our little man with us...served with warm bread & croutons...scrummy!!



and then the best bit...mr h had victoria sponge & i had apple & walnut...




now we were set for our walk home,through the village past these dear little cottage...
this little one was called 'tanglewood' cottage...sweet...




look at the old bell tower on this lovely cottage...this is the old school..
now named the 'old school house'...



this is the entrance porch to the old school house...



we have now arrived at the village church...







look at these unusual chimneys....


then across this field belonging to these lovely horses....


i hope you enjoyed our walk as much as we did,it was a lovely afternoon,then back too snowdrop cottage to get cosey for the evening...hope you have all had lovely weekends with lots of smiles...

  2. Oh I loved that heidi and can see why you would use that picture for your cards. The tree looks as though it could be a variety of eucalyptus. Did the leaves smell? You'll have to go back now for another look! x

  3. I agree with Pipany - I think the tree looks like a eucalyptus - young leaves on shoots are round, older ones elongated, greyish green - and they grow very tall if not cut down each year!

  4. As my sister in law would say "that is definately a gum tree" being a native Australian I think she would know! I love the way the bark peels from eucalyptus and the smell is divine.........
