as promised a little tour around saffron walden...

i wonder who live's behind this dear little door?...


character properties in all shapes & sizes...


all steeped in history & charm...






look at this traditional little english cottage...







it was a lovely sunny day,the blue sky was floating with fluffy cotton wool like clouds...



this wonderful little shop reminded us of the film 'the old curiosity shop'...






this cute little corner shop sold some lovely silver jewellery...



the church steeple high in the sky....





you dont see many house clearances now a days...


sweet little leaded windows of the second hand book shop....

well there were a few shop fronts for you pipany.....i could have taken lots of pics there are some lovely buildings all with so much history...lovely chocolate box cottages....some small,some grand properties....



now off to the market...which is held on tuesdays & saturdays...


this stall was selling old tools etc..





& this was mr h's favourite selling all kinds of herbs...




the greek olive stall looked really effective...even though we cant stand olives...



this stall looked scrummy selling french breads & pastries....






but....they did'nt speak a word of french....



my kind of stall selling a bit of this & that...

well i hope you enjoyed that little tour of saffron walden,sorry carol no more pics of the country side!!...it is worth a visit if you are ever this way,i still have more i want to explore. it has a nice feel to it & a lovely bakers with there own tearoom,the scones are a meal in themselves!!
talking of food,i hear 'come dine with me' has started must dash(bit addicted to it i'm afraid).
