It's been so long...

Hi everyone,
I do hope that i still have some followers & that you are all well?
I can't believe that my last post was back in 2012..where does the time go?
A lot has  happened some very happy & some very sad. Last year i turned 40 in august & this was a very happy time..the year was filled with celebrations & lots of happy memories made. One was having afternoon tea at claridges with my friend laura who also turned 40 last year. Another was going to the isles of scilly with my hubby & my two boys which was magical!
I am still painting or shall we say 'trying too'?! I haven't been doing as much painting as i was as life just got in the way really but now i am back full steam ahead. I do enjoy it so & find it relaxing & rewarding if someone falls in love with one of my paintings.
So i plan to put my paintings on here & would appreciate some feedback as to what you think.
They will also be sale so who knows you may fall in love too?

I look forward to catching up with you all this year..bye for now. x

Shed come studio...

Our little shed has been many things in it's lifetime..a summer house..a shed & now a studio!

Well it is still a shed as storage space is precious at 'snowdrop cottage'..but a little corner of it has now become my studio. Somewhere i can paint without having to put everything away everytime i paint.

Hubby has made sure everything is water tight by refelting the roof& insulting it so it is now nice & snug!

My jugs of brushes & a picture of my dear freind julie to help inspire me.

Some of my many pictures again for inspiration.

A girl has to have bunting!! Now i have covered my work bench in a matching oil cloth incase of spiliges!!

Here is the piece i am working on at the moment..almost done pics to follow.

And not forgetting my little helpers who sit at mummys feet while she paints!

Busy painting...

Morning everyone & what a beautiful morning it is too here in essex.
I have been busy with my painting again..i started this little one while on holiday in cornwall.
It was based on a picture i took when walking on the coastpath on the Roseland Peninsula.

This is a smaller piece measuring 6x6'',oil on canvas. ''Gorse lined coast path''.
I was planning to list in my folksy shop but i have grown rather fond of it..decisions decisions!!

This piece again oil on canvas measuring 9 3/4 x 11 3/4 '' approx.
Using brighter colours this time..''seapinks on the cliff edge''.
This piece will be going in my folksy shop which you can find on my side bar ''coastal treasure'' or you can leave me a comment here & i will get back to you.

Have a wonderful week everyone..enjoy this sunny spring weather! x

My Folksy Shop....Coastal Treasure

At long last i have got my backside into gear & done something that i had wanted to do for ages.
But sometimes it just takes that certain something to make you actually get up & do it..why i don't know.
For ages now i had wanted to start painting as i admire people who have this amazing talent...i have a few friends who are artists & one in particular really inspired me to get on & do it!!
So last year i started have lessons & i go to a class once a week at this class we learn watercolours which isn't what i really enjoy doing but it all helps in the learning process & i have made some new friends.
But what i do really enjoy is painting in oils as i say i am still learning & still have loads to learn but i love it & find it very relaxing. I just get lost for a few hours in my painting & don't hink about anything else!
I have had a lot of positive feedback so far which is encouraging..so i have just opened my little folksy shop 'Coastal Treasure'..you can click onto it from my side bar.
I will add more work as i complete it..i started another painting yesterday this one is more textured as i used my pallet knife more so watch this space....

Sorry it's been so long...

Let me start by wishing you all a very happy & healthy new year..a bit late i know!
Sorry i have been away from the land of blog for so long..but it has been quite a rough time for us here at 'snowdrop cottage' since i last did a post.
I wont bore you all with all the details but i had been feeling unwell for sometime and after lots of tests & back & forth to see the doc i was diagnosed with CFS (Chronic fatigue syndrome) or what some may know as M.E..luckily for me i dont have it severly as some people do but believe me it has been 'pants'!!
Never mind onwards & upwards & hopefully as we go through 2012 i will feel better & better, fingers crossed!!
My mother in law too has been very poorly & in & out of hospital for over 3 months..things have improved but she is still far from right. So all in all a very stressful & emotional time for us all.
But it's not all bad i have been learning new things which i will tell you about very soon!

Take care. x

Murphy Moo's First Birthday!!

Our little boy' Murphy moo' is now one..it was his birthday on the 25th july.

So to celebrate we took a trip too the coast..East Mersea, some of you may remember i done a post last year on West Mersea. Well they are all part of the same island..we don't normally go to this part but someone told us about a lovely trust park there so we decided to take a look.

It was a glorious day,the sun was shining. Even though there were plenty of people about you had plenty of space to yourselves.

It was new to the boys too so they had great fun exploring...climbing rocks, finding sticks, rolling in the sand.

Parts of the beach were the sea comes in is quite muddy...

Here is the birthday boy our little chunky monkey as we call him. What a beautiful boy he has grown into...dont you think he has filled out a lot?

We kept walking for a few hours..you could walk all the way to west mersea if you wished...

We stopped for refreshments & to enjoy the view....

And here is love of my life..the big bro! He gets soooo excited when we go to the beach.

A stick..lovely...this one is such a chewer!

As always there is always a lovely boat moored up to photograph at mersea..

With their daddy...

Sailing boats bobbing along on the horizon...

See what i mean about having plenty of space to yourselves..bliss!!

We had a super day..finished offf with a stop at a country pub for some good old fish & chips in the wonderful sunshine.

Me & my wonderful boys who make me smile every day. I love you sooooo much. xx

Sorry i haven't blogged in ages but we have been so busy doing jobs at home..we just have not stopped. I will show you some pics of what we have been up too.

I am sitting doing this post at my newly decorated office come dressing room where i now have a view from my desk out the window. Cant be bad hey?!!

See you soon. xx
